CAQH attestation is the step where you confirm that the information in your profile is truthful and complete. Clinicians and practice management staff enter that information in the CAQH Provider Data Portal (formerly ProView) and share it with the plans they authorize. In June 2026, CAQH rebranded as DataSpring, powered by CAQH.
What CAQH attestation means
DataSpring describes three basic steps: complete your profile and upload your documents, attest that all the information is truthful and complete, and authorize plans or other organizations to access your profile. Attesting is the middle step. It is your statement that what plans will see is accurate.
How often you need to attest
DataSpring, powered by CAQH, says providers generally must attest to their CAQH Provider Data Portal profiles every 120 days, and some states differ (DataSpring resources page, read Oct 21, 2026).
What happens if an attestation lapses
DataSpring says that if providers don't attest within the required timeframe, their CAQH Provider Data Portal status changes to Expired. DataSpring says it contacts providers in Expired status by email, and calls those who don't respond (DataSpring resources page, read Oct 21, 2026).
Plans you authorize can access your profile. If your status is Expired, review your information and attest.
Keeping your profile complete between attestations
Your CAQH profile is what you attest to. Keep it complete between attestations, and your next attestation confirms current information.
For dentists: DataSpring's dental FAQ says dentists can update their information any time their practice or professional data changes, and that the system prompts users when licenses or other documents are about to expire.

FAQs
How often do you attest CAQH?
DataSpring's schedule, including its note that some states differ, is in the section "How often you need to attest" above.

It's attesting again on the next cycle, or after a lapse, to confirm your profile is truthful and complete.
Need help with your CAQH profile?
The CAQH Provider Data Portal (formerly ProView) is a centralized provider data repository used by many health plans during credentialing and enrollment. EnrollMD can help set up new CAQH profiles and keep existing ones current. See our CAQH setup and maintenance help.
A credentialing audit is a preliminary review of where your credentialing stands. You receive a written report of the current issues we find with your credentialing.
Clients can see application status, reports, and updates in our credentialing portal, which also sends reminders.
Approval, effective dates, and processing timelines are outside our control.
